I see that the front page on your website preview has multiple horizontal sections. How can I achieve same result?
also, if I went another direction, how can I turn off posts and just make it static page?
You can try to download the export file and import it on a demo website. After this go and edit the page “Front Page” and try play with the shortcodes from the page content. Also I suggest you read the documentation.
I think this will help you better understand how work the shortcodes.
