Categories in Portfolios

Would it be possible to include Categories in Portfolios, just like they are available for Pages?

Now you can enable collections ( categories for portfolio ). You can see collections in top right corner ( template single portfolio – http://test.mythem.es/nerocity-premium-wordpress/portfolio/nunc-luctus/ : Big City, Lights City, New City, Travel City ).
Now I do an new widget for portfolios, will be like categories for single post, also I will do some new options to enable and disable different elements from single-portfolio template.

New version for Nerocity Premium ( 0.0.4 ) will be ready 06 October 2014.

I would like to use Categories rather than Collections so that both Posts & Portfolios are linked via the same method.

Thanks for the updates in the new version. They are really helpful.

I was wondering, would it be possible to include the Categories in the Portfolios? I am using Categories for my news articles and using Categories would be a great way to link them to the Porfolios that the news articles relate to.

Unfortunately this is not possible. Categories are special taxonomy dedicated only for posts. For this reason I create custom taxonomy named collections. Its work like categories. And now, from version ( 0.0.4 ), I do new widget, special for collection it’s named “myThemes : List Collection” and it’s look like post categories.

Can I use Collections in Posts? I am looking for a way to link Posts and Portfolios. If Posts only use Categories and Portfolios only use Collections, then neither are any use to me for this task.
